GSM Phone Source was started in 2001 in order to help fill a demand for high end GSM phones that were only available overseas at that time or from other grey market importers who charged an arm and your next of kin for a phone. I saw this as an opportunity to deal directly with the suppliers in Hong Kong , Germany, UK and other countries so that I could buy for the best price , and in turn sell for a price less than my competitors. This meant having to be on their time in order to get in contact with the right people, but I found the best of the best in cellular suppliers. For a several year period if you got a high end GSM phone, whether or not you purchased it from me directly or not there is a good chance I imported it. If a phone came out in Hong Kong on Friday morning, it was on a plane to me in the afternoon. I had it on Monday, my customers had it no later than Tuesday.
When the Ericsson T68i came out years ago I was one of the only people in the world who offered an unlocking solution for it, along with many other Ericsson models. With a small piece of software and an inexpensive unlocking cable thousands and thousands of customers all over the world unlocked their Ericsson phone with my help.
Next big service was unlocking for the Treo 650 a few years ago. I was one of only a couple people in The USA who could supply unlock codes for these with only a customers IMEI number. Then I discovered that this goldmine I stumbled upon could also help me to supply codes for Blackberry's and many other phones locked to North American GSM carriers. Previously if you wanted to unlock many of these phone it either was not possible or the phone has to be opened up in order to unlock it. My life changed within a couple of months and I was really enjoying my job. How many other jobs can you do where you make excellent money and get thanked by customers constantly?
